Firstly, and most crucial to remember: there are absolutely NO RULES. You shouldn’t stop wearing anything because of a protruding belly, in fact you should show it off more (if that’s what you feel comfortable doing). Gone are the days of hiding it away, give the people what they want (and what do they want? They want the belly!).
With that, here are some things I’ve tried to remember for practicalities sake throughout my pregnancy:

Comfort is key
Your belly grows throughout the day so something that feels a little tight in the morning could feel like it’s cutting off your circulation come four o’clock. Go for stretchy or loose (or just pack another outfit for later!).

Easy Access
I don’t know if this is the same for everyone but when I need to wee, I need to wee NOW. There may be accidents if I can’t unravel myself in time so take it from me; save yourself the trouble (and some awkward wet patches) and opt for an outfit that’ll make toilet trips easy.

Something soft, something sexy
Our senses are so heightened during pregnancy and touch can be sensitive, so make what you are wearing feel good on. I have loved wearing silky and soft materials even more than usual, and feel lighter in them too.

You don’t have to be logical
I have read so many pregnancy advice pieces stating we should be buying things that, ‘grow with you’ or that we’ll be able to, “wear after birth’ and yes I guess that’s *technically* quite logical. But we’re pregnant, we don’t want logic, we just want to feel nice. So, if it’s within your means to buy specifically for the bump – then do it! And if it’s not, take on that logic and invest in pieces that you know you’ll always have room to expand in. No matter what, you are your bump, and you’re both so beautiful – enjoy the ride!
